Referents

Welcome to the trade show industry!

As a New Hire or Helper, you will want to learn all you can about your new job in the trade show industry, and the Union. This section of our web site is provided to give you access to important information that will make your training easier, faster and more effective.

Every referent is required by law to file tax and immigration forms with each employer in order to process payroll. To make this easier, you will find a link to Form I-9 and Form W-4 at the left of this page. These are Adobe PDF forms that can be filled out right in your web browser, then saved and printed to bring with you when you report to work. Click here to get the latest version of the FREE Adobe PDF Reader software. Remember to bring your driver's license, Social Security card, etc. whenever you report to work.

Also, every referent is required by contract to have a minimum set of tools in their possession when reporting for work. At the left, you will also find a link to the list of required tools. Be certain to bring your tools every day to work. Failure to do so may result in you being sent home without pay.

To assist you in finding your way to your jobsites, you will find links to maps for most of our regular work venues on the Venues page linked from our Home page. Please use the maps instead of spending the Call Stewards' time asking for directions.

Use the menu at the left of the page to navigate to the information you need. If you need help, contact the Union office for assistance.
